Professor Martin Rothman (Independent Non-executive Director)
Martin was appointed to the Board on 11 July 2003 having been appointed to the board of Lombard Medical Plc in 2000. He is a consultant cardiologist and cardiac research and development director at Barts and the London NHS Trust. He is also honorary senior lecturer to the Medical College of St Mary Westfield, University of London and lectures regularly in cardiology and related subjects. He travels worldwide to give lectures and demonstrations to professional audiences in cardiology and the use of cardiology devices. Martin is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Fellow of the European College of Cardiology. Martin has founded medical device companies and has experience as a managing director raising capital and obtaining regulatory approvals as well as establishing marketing and distribution functions.
Martin is a member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committees.
