Lombard Medical Technologies (LMT) is the holding company of a medical devices group that aims to become a leading developer of innovative solutions for the treatment of vascular and other diseases.


 In particular LMT is:

producing the next generation of vascular devices addressing the unmet needs of the aortic aneurysm market; and

targeting potential market opportunities valued at over $1 billion.

 

The Group has sites in Didcot Oxfordshire, Ayrshire Scotland and Boston USA.:

The Cardiovascular Devices Division developing and commercialising innovative devices to treat vascular conditions such as Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA); and

.Lombard Medical has sold the goodwill, contractual rights and intellectual property of its polymer coatings business to Bayer MaterialScience AG (“BMS”) with the remaining assets to be sold to Bayer Plc.  November 2009.


This divestment is part of Lombard Medical’s strategy to focus its resources on Aorfix™, its unique endovascular stent graft for the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms. 

  

 


 

Marketed Products

Aorfix™ A second-generation bifurcated stent graft, CE Mark approved in the EU for the treatment of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA). 

Lead Development Products

Aorfix™ (US)IDE approval has been received from the FDA and pivotal trials of the AAA began 2006, PMA filing with the FDA is expected in 2010.
EndoRefix™ 

A patented endovascular stapling device that has CE Mark approval for the fixation of endovascular stent grafts.  The US trial for this product has been placed on hold as part of the board's strategy to conserve cash, whilst the company seeks partners to fund completion of the US trial and gain 510k approval for the product in the USA.

Thoracic stent graftA stent graft for the treatment of Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms (TAA).  Development of this product has been placed on hold as part of the board's strategy to conserve cash.

Technologies

PEP™This programmable drug elution profile (PEP™) coating can adjust the timing and amount of one or two drugs released by a drug eluting stent over one month or more.
